VFX Breakdowns

Flamethrower

  • Created roto for environment and foreground characters
  • Added additional flamethrower element

  • Created sliding hive door and door hole

Removed gun from holster

  • Goal was to remove gun from Tamzin's holster
  • Created a large amount of clean-plates as she walks across the entire scene
  • Large amount of roto and tracking required to rebuild her shirt, pants, holster and the surrounding environment

Essence

  • Created particle system and established effect for a number of shots

Driving 

  • Keyed greenscreen
  • Color-corrected background elements to match nighttime scene

Deep Wound and Stitches

  • Modelled and rendered geometry to make practical surface wound much deeper
  • Added stitches to the prosthetic to look like it was being ripped apart
  • Tracked elements and created roto for the hands and shirt

Warehouse Destruction

  • Keyed greenscreen
  • Intigrated background CG elements into the shot
  • Rendered and dressed elements of the background
  • Comped all elements together including atmosphere and falling ash
  • Managed and completed a large sequence of shots with one other artist to maintain continuity
